Adel Sayegh is an award-winning business leader, security innovator and philanthropist who has dedicated his life to helping the less fortunate.  He is president and CEO of USS, the largest privately-held loss prevention company in the country; founder of the USS Foundation, a non-profit organization that focuses on helping children in need; and the founder of StopORC, a professional non-profit organization that provides education for fighting organized retail crime.  He serves as the president of the FBI Citizens Academy Alumni Association (Los Angeles chapter).

Sayegh arrived to the U.S. as a child, and grew up in New York and California.  Upon graduation from high school he turned down several college scholarships to enlist in the U.S. Marines, as a way of giving back to his adopted country.

After completing his enlistment, Sayegh founded USS in his garage.  From that humble beginning in 1995, he grew USS to where it is now: a juggernaut serving loss prevention needs of retail giants like Nordstrom, Macy’s and Bloomingdales, as well as smaller regional retailers.  Today USS is a recognized innovator in the fields of electronic article surveillance; physical security; access control systems; and GPS tracking.

As his company has grown, so has Sayegh’s commitment to giving back.  He built the StopORC network so that loss prevention experts can more easily share intelligence and expertise about combating organized retail crime groups.  Through USS he has donated equipment to law enforcement in order to make fighting crime safer and more efficient.  Especially notable is his donation of GPS tracking equipment for police dogs at San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department, which helped that agency improve search for missing persons and fugitives.

Throughout the years what has remained closest to his heart is the wish to help children in need.  Never losing sight of his own rough start in life, he led the USS Foundation to provide holiday meals to kids in poor communities; to give free bicycles to children in underserved schools; and to bring holiday gifts to kids recovering from serious illnesses.  His leadership and passion for service has attracted companies like Lowe’s and Sport Authority to also get involved in the USS Foundation’s work to help alleviate the detriments of children poverty.

In 2014 Sayegh received an award from California Peace Officers Association for his efforts to improve officers’ safety.  The same year he won two Spirit of the Entrepreneur awards, being declared the most innovative entrepreneur and the Best of the Best – the entrepreneur of the year.

Adel Sayegh makes Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. his home, where he lives with his wife and four children.
